Terra Incognita: Now they fit-

I travel, I observe and sometimes I learn. Im periodically puzzled, quite often amazed and sometimes even shocked. This will be a chronicle of my adventures as I go along. The content here I hope will reflect the people, places & things that influence me one way or another as I explore my way through the world.

LIVE YOUR PASSION!

One of my main passions the last decade has been mountain biking, its one of the few things that I derive pure joy from doing and being a part of. From climbing that last 500’ of technical ridge line above Anchorage to advocacy work for a new bike lane in downtown Aberdeen, I have found being involved in all aspects of this sport to be very rewarding. In 20 minutes of hiking you can cover more ground than the average American walks in a week, no really, Im not making this up. For 95 percent of all trips outside the home, for whatever distance or purpose, Americans get into a car. Considering all types of walking- car to office, office to car, around the supermarket, shopping malls and video store, etc. the average American walks 1.4 miles a week. That’s barely 350 yards a day. Thats ridiculous. Obesity ranks where among our nations health problems? Get a clue…
