New stuff; Klondike Bluffs trail system

For all of us who upon heading north out of Moab have looked of to the east and wondered why there wasn’t any riding out there across that beautiful expanse of slickrock jutting up out of the desert floor, well; wonder no more. After the OuterBike event I stayed in Moab several days and was able to once again hook up with Scott Escott and the Trail Mix crew for some new trail work. I was fortunate to be there on a day we put the finishing touches on one of the last trails to be opened in the newly created Klondike Bluffs trails network.

Of course the Klondike Bluffs trail has been there for quite some time and is famously known to be used as an introduction ride for those new to MTB, new to the Moab scenery or both. New signage and a color coded marking system add to the ease of navigating this area.

The Baby Steps trail adjacent to the KB trail has been slowly growing and morphing over the years and is now a full loop around this area. Add the Mega Steps section at the north end and the EKG trail across the face of the ridge and this area now has a multitude of route options.

This EKG trail has quickly become one of my favorite routes and just a fun and challenging ride full of twists & turns and a surprise-a-minute ride. Im very anxious to get back there and tackle it again.
